Ellie WHO?

I’m an illustrator, designer and writer with a passion for environmental issues and an obsession with printed paper. I make picture books, illustrate for children, design products, make gifs and patterns, and take commissions.

I’m a 2026 graduate of the M.A in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art and have worked as a magazine Art Director and Graphic Designer, as well as running a sustainable product business, which I continue today.

My work is a celebration of colour and form. I love working with layers of pencil drawing, ink painting or stencilling; I sometimes dip my toe into printmaking, and I always make a mess. In fact, it’s usually a fail if I don’t finish a day with paint on my nose.

When I was a child I found inspiration everywhere, especially in nature, and ideas for pictures, characters and stories would cascade out of my head. Thankfully, this is still the case today. My aim, as cheesy as it sounds, is to bring the wonder of nature and moments of joy to people through all the forms of work I do - and hopefully start conversations too, especially with my picture books.

When I’m not illustrating I spend my days scrubbing paint off my nose, trying to hug my growing kids, sniffing books, walking in the woods, admiring 60s wallpaper and laughing at my ridiculous cat.
